[00:00:00] Hey everybody, welcome to this week's podcast. This week I have a comedy web series actors from the show The Sibs Kim and Brian.

[00:00:29] How are you guys doing? Hey, thanks for having us on. No problem. So we'll turn out with you guys.

[00:00:36] Not too much, not too much excited to be at The Man Cave Podcast for sure. Am I the first woman on your show? Yes you are actually.

[00:00:43] Wow, breaking ground. I'm feeling awesome. Brian and Brian can be kind of a woman. Yes. Yes. Oftentimes more so than you.

[00:00:53] He's a bit of a wussy. But we do have a show together, which is why we're here. Let's talk about the show. First off who created the show?

[00:01:03] Sibs is like very much like a collaboration between the two of us. We kind of had this thing going on for a little while where we would do these very short ridiculous videos that would always end in me punching my brother in the face

[00:01:21] because I love doing that. People love seeing it. People love seeing it. So then, you know, I kind of said, I reached a point where I'm a social media marketer and like so I kind of got to the point in my business where I was like, you know,

[00:01:39] I really love to get back to what I do, which is acting Brian's a full time actor as well. So we kind of grabbed each other and not in a weird way that sounded odd.

[00:01:48] Yes, I did. I'm sorry. Forget I said that. We kind of, you know, smack each other upside the head and said yes more sibling like and said, hey let's collaborate on something together.

[00:02:01] And how can we make a show work where I punch you in the face and you know, Sibs was born.

[00:02:08] And boom. What was that? I just said, and boom. There you go. Brian, did you go to acting school?

[00:02:19] You know, I took it in high school. I did some plays and everything. I actually got into acting because of watching Kim in high school doing her plays that always looked like something that I would be really interested in doing so I gave it a shot and it definitely bit me.

[00:02:32] So you know, ever since then, I had plans on moving out here and following Kim out here to LA for acting. And I got the opportunity with my parents getting a big job promotion.

[00:02:44] Like right as I was getting out of high school. So I was kind of perfect timing and it was kind of an easy transition for me.

[00:02:50] So I came out here and just kind of started, you know, just jumped into it.

[00:02:55] Started out in background. And I've got into modeling now which shows like face off and stuff. And yeah, do mainly commercials and face off is keeping me busy. So it's been good.

[00:03:08] What about you Kim? Did you go to school for acting or I on the other hand went, I went a different route and I went to conservatory. So I have.

[00:03:18] I went to the American Academy of dramatic or arts west in Hollywood and did their entire their entire three year program and their company. And yeah.

[00:03:32] So I have my classical training and I made sips. Yeah, the ridiculous.

[00:03:37] Never mind the whole part about graduating with best actress. You know, just throw that away.

[00:03:41] Yeah, I did so I did go to your acting school and it prepared me for a lot of things. So that's good.

[00:03:48] Are you guys originally from California?

[00:03:51] Our whole family, our whole extended family is from California. I was born here.

[00:03:57] Brian had the misfortune of you know being born in Seattle, Washington.

[00:04:02] Every Washington has to know this respect to Seattle. But yeah, so I consider myself an angelino, but we we lived all over the place.

[00:04:14] I kind of we've grew up in Alaska, Idaho.

[00:04:19] You know, yeah, every Washington stuff like that.

[00:04:24] So there's only two of you that work on the show pretty much right?

[00:04:28] Pretty much. Yeah. Literally everything that that we've done up until probably episode 11 or 12 11 is 100% me and Brian.

[00:04:42] Those are all episodes that we, you know, shot edited scored scored marketed in the iPhone.

[00:04:56] On the iPhone 7 plus, you know, in a 24 hour period. So that was all us and then we started, you know, as you do when you kind of up your game for something and you suffer from severe burnout and stress, you look for help.

[00:05:11] So so we did endlessly help of we had some awesome people work on our like special effects.

[00:05:20] We do have some for next season, we have a couple of people interested in partnering for production for producing things like that to take a little bit of that way.

[00:05:34] Yeah. Did you, um, did you have any backers for the show? Was this like pretty much out of your you guys pocket?

[00:05:40] Um, I executive produced this this, uh, this first season and then we do have a couple of strategic partnerships that we work with.

[00:05:49] And next season we will be working in the interim to kind of up our game for brand sponsorship and sponsorship backing things like that.

[00:06:00] Yeah. Yeah. Um, where does it get filmed? Is it like most like the first few episodes I noticed was like in your car?

[00:06:09] That's that's kind of our friend's coffee shop. That was our go to to a link scenes together. Yeah.

[00:06:14] We used my white wall quite a few times in the first few episodes and until that turned into Mr. B. Oches room in what episode was that episode six we got kidnapped in our one safe space that we know we could shoot in at any time.

[00:06:28] So then that sort of blew us using that for anything. But we shoot in the eight one eight. We're out here in the valley.

[00:06:33] So most of it we shoot in the valley. Sometimes we what I think the furthest we've traveled is well, yeah, the furthest we've actually traveled is probably Santa Monica.

[00:06:43] Oh no. We shot at the beach one day. Um, and then you know, I have a time.

[00:06:47] We want to Canada. Yeah, I have an ice stock account. So we did go to Canada and take plane trips and all those things.

[00:06:53] Yeah. Do you want to tell the listeners like what your show is about? Like what season one was all about?

[00:07:01] Yeah, without sports.

[00:07:03] See then one. Okay. If you haven't seen Sibs, Sibs is a ridiculous comedy web series.

[00:07:10] So we're not going to change your life. We're not going to, you know, we're not really going to, you know, change your world or your mindset.

[00:07:17] Uh, if you're looking for that, uh, but we make you laugh. Um, so our show started out kind of as one is showcase and two like just to introduce the world to like our characters that we play really well.

[00:07:32] Um, and also our show is kind of like if you have siblings at all, you kind of get the humor.

[00:07:41] There's some things like between siblings that are universal, like those just awkward dumb like moments that you wouldn't share with anybody.

[00:07:49] But you're Sibling, you know, from like, you know, if you've ever been to a baseball game with your sibling, like, and you haven't chucked peanuts at people, then, you know, you're doing something wrong.

[00:08:02] You didn't mean like those kind of moments, things that everybody does with their sibling that's just weird.

[00:08:07] So that's kind of like where our show started. And then when as we moved along, kind of Brian and I are also first time filmmakers and series creators.

[00:08:17] So this is very new for us in terms of content creation.

[00:08:23] Uh, so as we moved along, got a little more confident.

[00:08:27] Um, you know, we were able to kind of shoot in more locations.

[00:08:31] Um, and kind of unleash, uh, you know, unleash the Sibs world, which is kind of like Sibs against the world.

[00:08:40] Because there's nobody in our show, but us.

[00:08:43] It's, uh, you know, we kind of come up against, uh, you know, these ridiculous situations.

[00:08:50] Um, that really nobody would get themselves into, but it is like a heightened thing of that time you got arrested with your Sib.

[00:08:58] You know what I mean?

[00:09:00] Um, so as we kind of moved along in about episode six where we got kidnapped and we had a guy that wanted to bat us.

[00:09:08] Like, uh, as we moved into that episode, it became more about unleashing this crazy world that we live in.

[00:09:17] That's all part of the fun too is, uh, you know, creating other characters that we're playing ourselves.

[00:09:23] Um, by getting to you the different voiceovers and stuff.

[00:09:26] And that's, that's also why we shoot it kind of almost vlog style so that it's, you know, it's you get coherent.

[00:09:32] Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:09:33] Exactly.

[00:09:34] How do you, uh, how did you come up with some of the story lines?

[00:09:36] Like did you like, did something happen one day and you're like, oh, this could be great for the show.

[00:09:41] Well, I'll tell you the weirdest, but like at one point we had no, we were like, we were sober now and we were like, we don't,

[00:09:48] I don't know what to do.

[00:09:49] You know what to do?

[00:09:50] No, I don't know what to do.

[00:09:51] It's right something.

[00:09:52] So we got together over like, I don't know, maybe it was like a bad pizza or something that cost us but like,

[00:09:58] we literally opened up, uh, like a blog and it was ideas for shows comedy.

[00:10:06] And the idea that we chose was you get a phone call.

[00:10:11] Okay, so we got a phone call.

[00:10:13] Where did we go with that?

[00:10:15] And that's how we came up with episode six worst odd jobs, which was where we got,

[00:10:22] we went to go get odd jobs to pay our rent because Brian didn't pay his rent.

[00:10:27] And we were getting and we were going to get evicted.

[00:10:30] And we wind up with some psycho that wants to be had us.

[00:10:34] That's how long to put that.

[00:10:36] Have your parents watch the show?

[00:10:41] All our parents.

[00:10:42] Well, they started out watching the show.

[00:10:45] That's for sure.

[00:10:46] We're not so sure anymore.

[00:10:47] We don't hear much about that anymore.

[00:10:50] Stop talking to you.

[00:10:52] Yeah, yeah.

[00:10:53] They're just disappointed.

[00:10:54] They went up and do it as opposed to no, it's not like in this show,

[00:10:59] like literally everyone we talk to hates us, including our parents.

[00:11:04] So we have these conversations with our parents where they're just like,

[00:11:07] you're a disappointment to us.

[00:11:09] You know, which is not like real life.

[00:11:11] Our parents are very nice people, very busy people.

[00:11:13] But yeah, I'm sure they have watched and you know, stifled a laugh.

[00:11:21] When the season two going to be out.

[00:11:24] Season two.

[00:11:25] Okay. So we just we just we just wrapped season one last week.

[00:11:29] And we shot for what 13 weeks in a row.

[00:11:33] So right now what we're doing is we're taking like a little bit of breather,

[00:11:37] just a little bit.

[00:11:38] And then we're going to hit up for funding because we want to get our season two funded

[00:11:44] so that we can do things a little bit different with a little, you know,

[00:11:48] just yeah, just a little bit different,

[00:11:52] a little more of exactly what we want to do instead of having to work around.

[00:11:56] Having to do work around to kind of get where we want to go.

[00:12:00] So we're going to be hitting that up.

[00:12:02] So we'll probably be doing a crowdfunding soon, but we'll be launching that.

[00:12:06] So I'm looking at early fall.

[00:12:10] Yeah.

[00:12:11] Yeah.

[00:12:12] The man gave Chronicles on Twitter at the MCC podcast.

[00:12:16] We'll be right back.

[00:12:21] This is our nutter and this is Greg Trapp.

[00:12:23] And we're nerds with words and you are listening to the BS podcast network.

[00:12:28] Hey guys, Brian Padone here, founder of Quiet Punch.

[00:12:31] We're not not listening to the man cave Chronicles.

[00:12:33] You can catch me filming one of my live workouts on Quiet Punch.com.

[00:12:37] Check it out today.

[00:12:38] That's Quiet Punch.com.

[00:12:41] So we're going to be hitting that up so we'll probably be doing a crowdfunding soon,

[00:12:45] but we'll be launching that.

[00:12:47] So I'm looking at early fall.

[00:12:51] Yeah.

[00:12:52] Yeah.

[00:12:53] And now you have a website now too, correct?

[00:12:55] We do.

[00:12:56] We do.

[00:12:57] You can hit, you can actually pretty much do anything you want to do in there.

[00:13:02] If you go to Sibs.

[00:13:04] Well, not anything.

[00:13:05] Not anything.

[00:13:06] Brian, SibsTheWebSeries.com.

[00:13:10] SibsLikeSiblingSibsTheWebSeries.com.

[00:13:12] That's our site.

[00:13:13] You can watch episodes directly in there.

[00:13:16] We have a blog press.

[00:13:18] We have a giveaway running like it all time.

[00:13:21] So if you go on pretty much at any time and look for the giveaway, there'll be one.

[00:13:25] So if you like fun stuff, Amazon gift cards, iTunes gift cards,

[00:13:29] we'll do a local LA giveaway soon.

[00:13:32] So we have fun stuff going on in there so you can go check it out if you want to win some awesome stuff.

[00:13:37] And now how many viewers did you average for the first season?

[00:13:41] Do you have any idea?

[00:13:42] For the first season we have a total of about 25,000 views on YouTube.

[00:13:47] Which is small.

[00:13:48] We're a small channel.

[00:13:50] I'm just sorry.

[00:13:52] I just got an odd screenshot of myself that Brian pointed out to me.

[00:13:58] So yes, we averaged about, I think, about 1800 views per episode.

[00:14:05] So we're still a really small channel and not something that we need to work on.

[00:14:10] I mean, Hell's Bells, like, you know, we're doing a good job but, you know,

[00:14:15] we're ready to grow this thing and become a monster.

[00:14:18] I mean, 1800 is still pretty good per episode.

[00:14:22] It's actually really good in terms of YouTube and in terms of independent series.

[00:14:28] But, you know, I mean, I'm never satisfied so we'll go for broke.

[00:14:33] There's nothing wrong with that.

[00:14:36] If somebody wanted to get ahold of you guys on Facebook, Twitter, all that stuff,

[00:14:42] how do they find you guys?

[00:14:44] Yeah.

[00:14:45] I'm pretty much just Brian's gamut at all of the above.

[00:14:49] Brian's Brian's gamut at all of the above.

[00:14:51] I'm simple.

[00:14:52] Which is not a real network all of the above, but we should make it one.

[00:14:56] The easiest way to watch our series is on YouTube and you can just search for Sib's web series.

[00:15:06] If you search for Sib's web series type in all three words, we will come up.

[00:15:10] You can go to SibsTheWebSeries.com.

[00:15:12] You can do pretty much.

[00:15:13] You can reach us any way you need to there.

[00:15:17] And then we're on Twitter at Sib's web series Instagram at Sib's web series Facebook.

[00:15:23] Same thing, just type that crap in.

[00:15:25] Sib's web series and we'll come up.

[00:15:28] Have a question for the man gave Chronicles.

[00:15:31] Tweet them now at the MCC Podcast.

[00:15:38] Steve in here, co-owner of the BS Podcast Network.

[00:15:43] I really hope that you're enjoying this podcast that you're listening to.

[00:16:11] It's not going in anybody's pocket.

[00:16:12] It's going right back to this podcast and other podcasts just like it on this network.

[00:16:17] When we reach a certain amount of money, I believe it's $200.

[00:16:55] Hey, this is Adam Nutter.

[00:16:56] And this is Greg Trout.

[00:16:58] Come check out our podcast nerds with words.

[00:17:00] Adam and I talk about pop culture, comedy, comic books, movies, conspiracies.

[00:17:05] We're both comedians and we might make you laugh.

[00:17:08] Every week we welcome a guest from the entire spectrum of pop culture and science and comedy.

[00:17:13] You can follow us on Twitter at nerdswithwords1.

[00:17:17] This is John Poveromo and you're listening to the Man Cave Chronicles.

[00:17:22] We also wrote a couple more notes that how much if any does the show bleed over in real life?

[00:17:30] It doesn't it doesn't because obviously we get ourselves into the most ridiculous weird situations.

[00:17:47] I'm slightly smarter than my character and Brian is not, you know, as much of a douche.

[00:17:55] Brian's not as much of a douche.

[00:17:57] But that kind of like back and forth that relationship, like that chemistry that we have, again not like weird chemistry, like on screen chemistry.

[00:18:07] Like it is just that sibling relationship.

[00:18:10] So like part of why our show works so well is the relationship that we already have.

[00:18:18] So it bleeds over quite a bit, you know, and as far as the, you know, secret spy life and, you know, throwing babies around, not so much.

[00:18:31] Brian, your sister did blow up your spot on, I think it was on Twitter that you are taking so no girls could come out.

[00:18:40] Yeah, some very sorry to any disappointed listeners out there I am taken.

[00:18:44] And then for your relationship right now, after the taking.

[00:18:47] No people message me and they're like hey, is your brother single?

[00:18:51] I'm like dude, come on in.

[00:18:54] On the other hand my number is 555.

[00:18:59] That's everybody's a number of when and TV shows 555.

[00:19:04] Exactly.

[00:19:06] So I know you guys have listened to my podcast too.

[00:19:09] What's the best piece advice you've had from listening to this show?

[00:19:13] The best advice that I got like I said, I love the fighters that you have on your show and, like my character, like loves fighting.

[00:19:25] And that's one of the things that bleeds over is I love fighting.

[00:19:28] I would never make it anywhere as a fighter because I'm like 100 pounds, but there was something that Kyle Krasbach-Mirax said and he said

[00:19:38] that he, when he was talking about a fight that was upcoming for him and he said you know, I don't care if I'm this smaller guy, I'm going to be the more confident guy.

[00:19:46] And I thought man, that's just life advice.

[00:19:49] That's just life advice.

[00:19:51] Which is one of the things I love about fighters in general is that they tend to be one extremely humble people and so in performance lifestyle you know too,

[00:20:03] just completely driven, focused, disciplined but very humble.

[00:20:10] And that's that's you know, that was a great piece of advice he gave just for just for life.

[00:20:15] It doesn't matter how small you are, you know Brian and I are two actors making a web series but you know what like we're going to be the more confident people.

[00:20:24] You know what I mean? We want to stand up and raise our hand and say we're here.

[00:20:29] That's how I feel about my podcast too. There was a couple of weeks ago where I thought about shutting it down.

[00:20:36] Why? I would be so proud.

[00:20:38] My wife actually had to like talk me out of it. She goes, why are you going to do something that you're having fun? You know I'm having fun doing this and you never know what could happen while you're doing this.

[00:20:47] Yeah. Well that is why we have amazing women and that's why you have amazing women in your life.

[00:20:54] That's why every man needs an amazing woman to tell them what to do.

[00:21:01] Exactly. Because they're always right.

[00:21:03] Yeah yeah yeah.

[00:21:04] I think everybody feels that way it's just so much to take on and you know my girlfriend also has had that same conversation with me so yeah.

[00:21:12] I think everybody feels that at one time at another.

[00:21:15] So you know it's just about pressing on and keeping it going you know.

[00:21:20] So we had a couple questions on Twitter. One of them was from let's see what was it here at.

[00:21:27] Be underscore like underscore Matt. How do you feel your approach to the show changed overseas at one?

[00:21:34] Be like Matt.

[00:21:36] What I think we touched on that a little bit. We touched on that a little bit is that you know when we first started like obviously you know the first episode is entirely in the car.

[00:21:46] I mean.

[00:21:48] And that actually wasn't even intended for anything we had one we did that was to take advantages and press don't give us away we used we use the small clip in that first episode that was actually a flashback from a one off video that we did probably a year prior to that.

[00:22:03] One of Kim's friends apparently enjoyed that very much and took to YouTube to see if we had any more videos and was very disappointed to find out that we didn't have anymore.

[00:22:11] So he went to him and she was like yeah we should definitely get some more going so then like you know the first episode was actually inspired from that conversation she had with her friend and that just that wasn't even meant to be a YouTube thing.

[00:22:24] Either until we got to the the elusive rapidino episode that is actually like okay yeah we should probably do something with this.

[00:22:31] Yeah yeah we got some press and then we and then we were like well we got a series now let's make us areas.

[00:22:38] So but as we moved along like I said like it can't it went from like you know those kind of sweet funny moments that you have with your Sib to like every ridiculous thought that's ever entered our brain and how can we make it work.

[00:22:51] Yeah yeah and the second question was from my at an compass social is Kim getting help for a blood loss in season two.

[00:23:01] Really should I've been talking about that blood loss I love that I love that yeah yes my character a few things that my character did this season.

[00:23:14] I put a Canadian hockey player in the hospital you ended his career I ended his career you know because I I saw hockey fight and I got in the middle of it just destroyed everyone.
