[00:00:00] .

[00:00:05] .

[00:00:10] Jack and Olivia, thank you for joining me today on Press Day.

[00:00:13] Thank you for having us.

[00:00:15] Congrats on the series. I watched a few episodes the other night.

[00:00:18] I was telling the other guys too, like I loved it.

[00:00:20] I love the whole mystery and the journey between these characters and everything.

[00:00:24] And of course we have ThimbleTac, Calliope.

[00:00:26] How exciting are these characters?

[00:00:29] They're so exciting.

[00:00:31] Yeah, it was Calliope.

[00:00:33] Yeah, actually it's funny.

[00:00:35] Calliope.

[00:00:37] Yeah, Calliope.

[00:00:39] She is, I mean she's just so much fun.

[00:00:42] It was such an honor to get to kind of step into this Spider-Man world

[00:00:47] and to just get to be a new character.

[00:00:50] I mean she is the opposite of flavorless.

[00:00:53] I mean she just has so much going for her, like so much going on.

[00:00:57] So many different arcs throughout the series.

[00:00:59] And it's just so much fun to get to play such a sinister, evil, weird character.

[00:01:05] It was so much fun.

[00:01:07] So we have ThimbleTac of course.

[00:01:09] He's quite a unique character I've noticed.

[00:01:12] What drew you to this role, Jack?

[00:01:14] What drew me to this role?

[00:01:16] I love Spider-Man.

[00:01:18] Point blank period.

[00:01:20] I love it very, very much.

[00:01:22] I've always loved it.

[00:01:23] I saw the movie when I was a kid.

[00:01:24] Super inspired.

[00:01:26] I changed my whole perspective and perception.

[00:01:28] It gave me a big paradigm shift on my world of imagination and creativity

[00:01:32] and the future endeavors and pursuits that I might embark upon in my later years.

[00:01:39] And it was just super-duper-dee-cool.

[00:01:43] And got to self-express, be all fervous as ThimbleTac,

[00:01:47] and that made me real happy.

[00:01:49] It's a true blessing.

[00:01:51] Olivia, you said Calliope, right?

[00:01:54] I pronounce it in Greek because I'm Greek by the way.

[00:01:56] That's why I've been saying it like that.

[00:01:58] Very interesting.

[00:01:59] So the Grace family discovers her.

[00:02:01] What do you think was the connection between the world and how she fits in this story?

[00:02:06] Yeah, I mean she...

[00:02:08] Oh my God.

[00:02:10] She's kind of like Mulgrath's right-hand man in a lot of ways.

[00:02:14] She is coming into Henson with...

[00:02:19] Basically he's bribing her to give her all of the death that she needs to sustain her

[00:02:24] because she feeds on death.

[00:02:26] She's a portent of death.

[00:02:28] And basically he's coming in to try to manipulate the Grace twins

[00:02:33] and steal Arthur Spider-Rick's field guide from them.

[00:02:36] So she plays a really important part.

[00:02:38] And it was also very important to me that she didn't feel forced,

[00:02:40] that she felt like she really belonged in this world.

[00:02:43] So yeah.

[00:02:45] Jack, for your character also,

[00:02:47] what do you think was the biggest challenge in portraying this character, you think?

[00:02:51] For you.

[00:02:52] That's one of the hardest lollygags for money.

[00:02:54] You know, I'm getting paid to do this, aren't I?

[00:02:56] Maybe not.

[00:02:58] No, I'd say that Thumbletack is a master of the art of lollygagging.

[00:03:06] He's also an artist all in all.

[00:03:09] Like he loves to implement his, you know, quick wit son of a twist attributes.

[00:03:17] He has just divine.

[00:03:19] He's a divine little spirit and he's got so much bounce to him,

[00:03:23] so much recoil.

[00:03:25] He's got flavor to the eighth degree.

[00:03:30] He's a genius.

[00:03:32] And he also is helping the Grace family come upon a lot of the conclusions that they seek

[00:03:38] in Spiraling.

[00:03:40] Last question for both of you.

[00:03:42] What do you hope, like this has a big fan base,

[00:03:44] what do you hope they get out of the series when they tune in?

[00:03:48] So I hope that they,

[00:03:50] I really hope that they take away the aspect of hope,

[00:03:53] the aspect that magic is real.

[00:03:57] And I hope that they come out of it just feeling like,

[00:04:03] like this magical world that the Grace family is trying to make everybody believe that it's real,

[00:04:08] that it is.

[00:04:09] And like that no matter what happens your family is always going to be there for you.

[00:04:13] I think that those are like the two main aspects of the show that I really love.

[00:04:17] So yeah, the hope and the family aspects

[00:04:20] and hope that they like Kali at the end.

[00:04:24] She can be one heck of a sinister character.

[00:04:28] So I hope that in the end, they find her redeemable.

[00:04:33] Jack, let's end this with you.

[00:04:35] I hope they don't, you know, leave the living room feeling like they just spent a bunch of time in a crematorium or something.

[00:04:40] Boring.

[00:04:41] But I feel like it's a great adventure, great journey to take yourself and your family on.

[00:04:49] It's a great show for the whole family.

[00:04:52] It's but it's great because the themes, the thematics that we grew up with,

[00:04:56] I grew up with watching the movie, carried through,

[00:05:00] but also seemed to evolve into a beautiful, nuanced, refreshing light that I feel like is so perfect and timely,

[00:05:06] yet also timeless.

[00:05:08] And I think we'll stand against the test of time and displaying some greatness for the silver screen.

[00:05:16] I want to thank you both for giving a few minutes today on Preston.

[00:05:19] Good luck with the series.

[00:05:20] Thank you, sir.

[00:05:21] Thank you. Have a good day.
