[00:00:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for joining me today in Pop Culture Unplugged.

[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely. So my dad was an actor and a filmmaker in Iran, and I was very

[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_00]: young at the time. And he started bringing me to sets, and I just fell in love with

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_00]: the industry and everything they do. So slowly I got into the acting industry, and that's

[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_00]: where it all became a stuff all the time.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_01]: What are some of the movies you've felt in love with, or TV shows that even pushed you

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_01]: more to this day?

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely a lot of films about making films. Those really like once a

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_00]: point of time Hollywood, that's great. This one isn't really about making film, but

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: LaLaLand has a lot of, I always love that one. But stuff related to like incoming that

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_00]: really drew me into this role was definitely super bad.

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that reminds you a lot of that movie, right?

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_00]: It really mirrors this movie and I love it.

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Now that you got your hands on a little comedy, what's the dream or for you? Any other

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: like, you're hoping to get your hands on someday?

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I definitely really enjoy drama roles or still comedy roles. Comedy roles, I really love

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: just, I don't know, it's something about that movie super bad. I just, as soon as I

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: read the bio for this movie, I just, I've clicked and I fell in love with it.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: How upset are you that we haven't seen a sequel? They're super bad.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh man, I feel like I'm really not that upset really because some, you know, sometimes

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: sometimes movies, they come out with sequels and then it just like it decreases.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But sometimes like the new Deadpool movie really, every movie was great.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: So let's jump into the incoming. This one of your first features that you, how did

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: you become part of this? Did you originally go in for Kush? It was for somebody else?

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I was picked for Kush and it was, it was a really long process. It was definitely a

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_00]: lot of callbacks, a lot of auditions, a lot of meeting with different people but in the end

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: and then it was just for Kush. What was the description that you were given for him?

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Was this a live audition at first? Was it a self-tape out of that startup?

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_00]: This was, I found pretty, this is after COVID. Oh, come, yeah, it was after COVID. So everything was

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: mostly self-tapes and I did the self-tapes and after what I got at a hall back, I met up with

[00:03:03] [SPEAKER_00]: some producers and I met up with some other people that were super nice. So it was half and half.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_00]: It was sometimes live. It was sometimes just me recording in any other. What was the description

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_00]: for Kush? Kush was like cocky. He's not really in the friend group and he's going back to

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_00]: two of the bad sides. He's kind of like the McLeod in the group. He's like the outcast but he's trying

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_01]: to fit in. Did you find easy playing the character and he challenges? Definitely a lot of the

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: stuff he does in the movie is kind of, it was definitely easy to open up with this character

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: because a lot of stuff I could relate to because it was for freshman going to high school and

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I was once a freshman and I know that feeling of having some friends but then still trying to

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_01]: attain the role. We see throughout the movie too you're like, you kind of look up to your brother

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_01]: but at the same time it's like a shadow. You're waiting for like to be part of the group and everything.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_01]: The social scenes, how did you connect with this character's journey and like throughout the

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: movie and try to bring him to life to like make him feel like your own character? Definitely because I

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: was trying to fit into my brother's shadow. It was definitely very very um I do it was kind of like

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_00]: fitting in but then trying to stand out as well which I had to find this middle ground because it

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_00]: coosh fit in but he's also trying to stand out so this middle ground was really important

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_00]: from to find to get this role. What did you what did you love about this character? Wow what

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I love about this character. A lot of you had a lot of flaws definitely but he does have a big heart

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's he just has to uncover it but you can tell this person has a lot of potential if you

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_00]: just ease himself and stops being cocky and so it's been nice and new. Is there anything you would

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_01]: change about him? If they give you like you know here, change something about him is there anything

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_00]: you want to change about him? If if I could change something about him, definitely the way he flirts

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: or definitely the way he tries to get girls is definitely something I would definitely change from him.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: We see throughout the movie you know he makes some like I wrote down here mistakes and you

[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_01]: learned from them and everything like what do you think is some of the message that this movie

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_01]: is trying to show to the audience like with your character or any other character?

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I'd say this movie obviously is a comedy but it does have its lessons which I love and since all

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_00]: for main characters all have kind of a different like storyline you definitely see a lot of

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: different resolutions and lessons like for me, Rakuush was being himself that was in a nutshell

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: is him being himself like Benji it's him trying to fit in and putting himself out there because

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_00]: you know it's his first time in high school and for for Ramon and Rafa they definitely

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_00]: they had to um they like the odd one outs hmm that's in the they're different they kind of

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_00]: everyone just trying to put themselves out there and we see throughout the film too you

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_01]: you mentioned you know we have comedy scenes but you also you know like there's some series themes

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_01]: so you're like you know trying to fit in peer pressure identity you know like how as an actor

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_01]: how did your approach those different parts of the movie? Definitely it's a lot coming from

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_00]: my experience as a freshman one was trying to fit in one was the peer pressure one was trying

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_00]: to be yourself it all in a nutshell at all is you just literally just being being yourself because if

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_00]: if Krush was in my school he would probably be hated because he's he just his personality

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: as being cocky on the outside isn't really likable and that's why a lot of people don't

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_01]: like him in the movie um which if that's an acoustic spin-off or you know he becomes a

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_01]: better person in life and you continue on what do you think? I would definitely like to see that

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: character development and a spinoff I would love to see how he just turns from this cocky self-centered

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_00]: person it's like an open and kind genuine person. Now you have a surrounding cast that's fantastic

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_01]: too was there anybody in particular that you enjoyed working with or you wish you had more seeds

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_00]: with throughout the movie? Definitely all four of my castmates were great um I hung out with

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_00]: a lot they were super nice super kind one of the greatest ones that I worked with super nice guy

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Ramon he we had some funny things he's super energetic and he gets on set he's ready to go and just

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: his personality your personality or your your your happiness goes up when he comes on set that was

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_01]: really nice for you with that. Now I know we met you comedy was there sometimes like where you

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_01]: guys like improvise some of these seeds or you just kept going because it was funny or

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_00]: there was some scenes mostly it was to the script obviously you get the John and

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Dave they let us branch out but some improvisations came towards the end of the scenes like

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_00]: after we finished our lines we could say some like like jab joke or something which I definitely

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_01]: liked I definitely liked. How about bloopers any bloopers ever going to see eventually

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_01]: after they end together credits or anything? If you're anything it was one with me and from

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: it was all four was actually we were standing and talking about uh long break or Trena Oriana

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_00]: and we were talking about her and I had to turn back to Ramon and his face when I couldn't

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: stop laughing we both couldn't stop laughing because his face is so comedic and it's so hilarious

[00:09:48] [SPEAKER_00]: he didn't have to say he said literally nothing and I just started falling laughing.

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_01]: So I can see something like I happening throughout the film too when you're filming some

[00:09:57] [SPEAKER_01]: seedy just you're gonna laugh you just start bursting out you've had a lot of those there

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_00]: that definitely we had a few of them uh some with Mason some with Ramon

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I had I had I had a few with Brafah it was it was a lot of us sitting at the lunch tables in school

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_01]: those were really well you're gonna find a lot of loopers from that. Amazing what do you

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_01]: you're probably gonna get a lot of like the teen early 20s are gonna tune into watches what

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_00]: do you hope you think it out of this film? Definitely the first is laughs 100% then this

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_00]: movie is hilarious the second is the lessons like I said before they each character has their own

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_00]: conflicts and resolutions and the lessons are great and also I mean just enjoy the party movie it's a

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_00]: John Dave's idea of comedy is so like unique to me like these these party teens are pretty crazy

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah when I watch them back they're really intense. In other words you want to get your hands on

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_01]: another role something like this down the road. Under percent 100% is it already a Hocken uh this

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_01]: was great a Hocken the loopers the viewers find you social media keep bumping to you I know we're

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_01]: a few weeks away from the movie and I know you be posting more pictures. Yeah 100% they can

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_00]: see me on Instagram at Bardi's Harry. Amazing Bardi I want to thank you for giving me

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_01]: a film instead of good luck with a film hopefully we see a continuation or even see you in other

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_00]: projects in the future. Yeah of course thank you. Thank you.
