Disney and Pixar have officially pulled the string on Toy Story 5, debuting the film’s first teaser trailer and a brand-new poster that signal a bold new direction for the beloved franchise. This time, it’s Toy meets Tech.
In the teaser, audiences are introduced to Lilypad, a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee (Past Lives, The Morning Show, TRON: Ares). Lilypad brings a sleek, modern edge to playtime — and a new kind of trouble for Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the gang, who must face off against a digital-age rival threatening the very idea of imagination itself.
Returning favorites Tom Hanks (Woody), Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear), Joan Cusack (Jessie), and Tony Hale (Forky) are all back in action. And in a hilarious casting surprise, Conan O’Brien joins the lineup as Smarty Pants, a toilet-training tech toy whose “smarts” might cause more chaos than convenience.
Director Andrew Stanton (WALL•E, Finding Nemo) and co-director Kenna Harris (Ciao Alberto) promise fans a mix of nostalgia, humor, and heart. “It’s been a hilarious and poignant journey exploring how our favorite team of legacy toys might respond to today’s world of technology,” they shared. “Having Greta Lee bring Lilypad to life — balancing a playfully antagonistic tone with humor and heart — has been incredible.”
Produced by Lindsey Collins (Turning Red, WALL•E, Finding Dory), Toy Story 5 lands in theaters June 19, 2026, promising a new adventure that bridges the gap between classic playtime and the digital frontier.
