Meet the New Voice of Eleven: Brooklyn Davey Norstedt on Stranger Things Tales from 85
Brooklyn Davey Norstedt joins Pop Culture Unplugged with Elias to talk about stepping into the world of Stranger Things: Tales from 85, where she voices the animated version of Eleven.
During the conversation, Brooklyn opened up about the long audition process, the surprise of finding out she had joined the Stranger Things universe, and the responsibility of voicing such an iconic character originally brought to life by Millie Bobby Brown.
“I’ve personally been working on this project for three years and keeping it a secret for so long.”
Brooklyn shared that when she first auditioned, she didn’t even know the project was connected to Stranger Things. The characters were under code names, but the writing felt familiar. Months later, she learned she had booked the role of Eleven in the animated series.
“Then they told me, welcome to the Stranger Things universe. This is actually Eleven in the new Stranger Things animated series.”
Brooklyn also discussed the pressure that came with playing Eleven, especially knowing how beloved the character is to fans around the world. She explained that she watched the original series closely, especially Seasons 1 and 2, to capture Eleven’s voice, emotional tone, and unique way of speaking.
“Eleven is such an iconic character, and I wanted to do her and Millie’s performance justice.”
One of the most exciting parts of Tales from 85 for Brooklyn is the chance to explore more of Eleven’s childhood and emotional growth. She talked about seeing Eleven experience small moments of joy, friendship, and independence, including scenes where the character simply gets to be a kid.
The animated format also opens up new creative possibilities, allowing for bigger action, more intense monster encounters, and deeper emotional storytelling.
“She’s really stepping into her independence in this series.”
For longtime fans, Brooklyn’s performance offers a fresh yet faithful take on Eleven—one that honors the original while expanding the character in exciting new ways.
