Pop Culture Unplugged caught up with actress Briana Price to talk about her powerful role as Tiffany in Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas. From unexpected casting twists to emotionally charged scenes and authentic friendships, Briana dives deep into Tiffany’s journey—and how the show is resonating with audiences everywhere.
Tiffany Wasn’t the Plan—At First
Briana shared a behind-the-scenes surprise: “I actually didn’t audition for Tiffany,” she revealed. “During the chemistry read, Tyler asked me to read for her instead. And the moment I did, I felt like I understood her. She felt close to me.”
That connection helped Briana bring Tiffany to life with emotional honesty, drawing on her own experiences with love, loss, and the hope of starting again.
Art Imitates Life
Briana spoke about how her own romantic journey helped her embody Tiffany’s mindset: “In late 2023, new love came into my life. That helped me tap into the emotions Tiffany was feeling—letting herself hope again, despite past pain.”
She added that much of the character felt “instinctive” and required little external research: “Tiffany’s story is very familiar to me.”
Exploring Life After Divorce
As Tiffany navigates the complexities of post-divorce love, Briana emphasized the character’s caution—but also her desire for joy: “She deserves happiness. It’s her turn. But she’s still listening to her intuition, even when it’s warning her about red flags.”
Her portrayal balances vulnerability with strength, portraying a woman slowly stepping into a new chapter with hope—and hesitation.
Chemistry on Set and Off
The cast's sisterhood is more than just for the screen. “We knew how important our chemistry was,” Briana said. “We had Zoom calls, ran lines together, supported each other. This show meant something big for all of us. We built real friendships.”
The tight-knit dynamic translates into believable, heartfelt scenes that fans have been responding to deeply.
Favorite Moments and Emotional Highs
Though the first half of Season 1 has focused on lighter moments, Briana teased heavier scenes ahead: “Episodes 9 through 13 are where Tiffany starts really coming into herself. She finds her voice. She begins listening to her instincts more closely.”
Still, early scenes brought joy. “The ones so far have been fun. Tiffany is playful and vibrant—it was a blast to embody that energy.”
Dressing for Reinvention
Briana praised the costume team: “They nailed it. I walked into the fitting and said, ‘Yes, this is Tiffany.’ Every outfit supported who she is—newly single, stylish, and stepping into her power.”
The Bigger Purpose
Asked what she hopes viewers take away, Briana didn’t hesitate: “I hope Black women in this age group see themselves represented in an honest way. I hope people feel seen in their heartbreak—and their healing. That they know they’re not alone.”
What’s Next for Briana
When she’s not lighting up the screen as Tiffany, Briana has been busy with new projects. She stars in Stranger in My Home (now on Apple TV) and California King (now streaming on Hulu).
“I’m so grateful for all the opportunities,” she shared. “It’s been a full season, and I’m just getting started.”
