Artemis joined Elias on Pop Culture Unplugged for a conversation about Sweet Magnolias Season 5 and her role as Lily, a character who has grown into one of Serenity’s most lovable younger voices.
During the interview, Artemis reflected on how Lily’s journey has changed over the years, from entering town unsure of herself to becoming someone more confident, open, and comfortable with who she is.
“She starts off as someone who’s new to town, doesn’t really know anyone else there. And then over time, she learns to come out of her shell.”
Lily’s Growth in Sweet Magnolias
Artemis shared that Lily’s personal growth has mirrored her own in many ways. As Lily found her footing in Serenity, Artemis was also navigating new chapters in her own life, making the role feel even more personal.
What started as a smaller appearance turned into something much bigger, with Lily becoming a meaningful part of the series and building strong connections with the younger characters.

Harvard, Boston & What Comes Next
Outside of Sweet Magnolias, Artemis also spoke about recently graduating from Harvard and her love for Boston and Cambridge. She described the area as full of the things she loves, including academia, architecture, and endless places to explore.
“It just felt like I was living in one of my favorite books.”
Looking ahead, Artemis said she would love to explore fantasy and historical fiction roles, especially projects that transport audiences into a completely different world.
“I’m a big fantasy nerd, and so I would love to play a role where I can be in some fantastical world.”
