Alexa Blair Robertson Talks Terrifier 3, Horror Legacy, and the Iconic Shower Scene

Alexa Blair Robertson is the latest scream queen to make her mark in horror cinema with her chilling role as Mia in Terrifier 3. The third installment in the cult-favorite slasher franchise has been met with an outpouring of excitement from fans, and Alexa's performance—particularly in one of the film’s most shocking scenes—has already cemented her place in horror history.

In an exclusive conversation with Pop Culture Unplugged, Alexa shared her journey into acting, the intensity of filming Terrifier 3, and what it was like going head-to-head with the terrifying Art the Clown.

A Performer at Heart

Before stepping into the world of horror, Alexa was deeply immersed in the performing arts. “I’ve always had a big personality,” she shared. “I loved any chance to perform, whether it was dance, theater, or eventually film.”

A former professional dancer and a member of the New York Knicks dance team, Alexa credits her dance background with helping her navigate the physically demanding nature of acting. “Being a dancer requires extreme discipline,” she explained. “I think that discipline really carried over into my acting career, especially in a movie like Terrifier 3 that required so much physicality.”

Landing the Role of Mia

Alexa’s journey to Terrifier 3 came about in a way that felt meant to be. “It came through as a self-tape audition,” she recalled. “I was intrigued by the storyline, but I also saw the big label on the audition warning about intense prosthetic work and gruesome effects. That actually excited me.”

As she moved through the audition process, she started to understand just how beloved the franchise was. “I had a friend who is a massive Terrifier fan, and when I told him I was auditioning, he completely freaked out. That was the moment I realized how huge this was,” she laughed.

Becoming Mia – True Crime Podcaster Turned Victim

In Terrifier 3, Alexa plays Mia, a true crime podcaster obsessed with Art the Clown. “She’s bold, passionate, and maybe a little too curious for her own good,” Alexa said. “She’s completely fascinated by Art and what he represents. That obsession leads her into some very dark situations.”

To prepare, Alexa dove deep into true crime podcasts and revisited classic horror performances. “I’ve always loved horror. Saw was the first horror movie I ever watched, and it really influenced how I approached this role,” she explained.

The Scene Everyone is Talking About – The Shower Kill

If there’s one moment from Terrifier 3 that has audiences buzzing, it’s Mia’s brutal shower scene. Many horror fans are already calling it one of the most shocking kills in modern horror.

“When I first read the script, my jaw was on the floor,” Alexa admitted. “I was like, ‘Wait, this nice guy I just spoke to over Zoom wrote this?!’” she laughed, referring to Terrifier mastermind Damien Leone.

Filming the scene was an intense process that spanned four to five days in freezing cold temperatures. “It was the middle of winter in Long Island, and I was soaked with water and blood the whole time,” she said. “Physically, it was exhausting. And mentally, staying in that headspace of complete terror for days was a challenge.”

The response to the scene has been overwhelming. “People are calling it one of the best horror kills ever, which is insane to me,” she said. “I had no idea it would be so iconic, but I’m incredibly proud of how it turned out.”

Facing Off Against Art the Clown

Art the Clown has quickly become one of horror’s most terrifying villains, and acting alongside David Howard Thornton, who portrays him, was an unforgettable experience.

“David is the nicest guy, which makes it even scarier when he transforms into Art,” Alexa said. “He goes from joking around on set to suddenly becoming this completely silent, horrifying presence. There’s something about his movements and expressions that make Art so unsettling.”

The Horror Legacy

With Terrifier 3, Alexa has officially become part of the horror legacy, something she never expected but fully embraces. “I never saw myself in the horror world, but now that I’m here, I love it,” she said. “The horror community is so passionate, and I’d love to continue in the genre.”

Would she return for Terrifier 4? “Well… Mia is kind of toast,” she laughed. “But never say never. This franchise plays by its own rules.”

What’s Next for Alexa

While Terrifier 3 has been dominating horror discussions, Alexa has more exciting projects on the way.

“I have a Netflix comedy coming out soon, which is a fun switch from horror,” she teased. “And I’ll actually be performing at the Grammys, which is surreal!”

As she continues her journey, Alexa hopes to land roles that blend her love for acting and dance. “Something like Footloose or a musical film would be a dream,” she said.
